In a large environment this can be an enormous task involving thousands of desktops and laptops with remote users. If you don't already have an accurate list that you can trust you will need to perform an application discovery task as part of your project. The importance of this cannot be stressed enough. If you do not deliver the correct applications to the business on roll-out day the reputation of your project will quickly be damaged.

Here at Packaging Team we have worked on many projects where a discovery phase has been required. Frequently this phase has been left a little too late and we have enabled projects to get back on track using our software discovery system, processes and methods. Our discovery system is available to all of our clients to inventory their workstations. The tool is a multi-threaded application, providing rapid results. A client is not required to be installed on the workstations. The system resides on a centrally located machine and when tuned by one of our consultants, it will be optimised for your environment to collect the results in the most efficient manner.
